At Speakaboos, we are always looking for ways to give back to the community and promote a love of reading, starting at an early age. That is why we are excited to announce our partnership with the University of Southern Mississippi’s Dr. Julie Cwikla, Director of Creativity & Innovation in STEM, in creating a series of interactive digital math stories that motivate children to read and expose them early on to important math concepts.
The Kellogg Foundation has awarded Dr. Cwikla a $900,000 grant to help school children along the Gulf Coast learn math in new and exciting ways. Dr. Alice Wilder, Chief Learning Officer at Speakaboos, will co-design and develop the math stories, which will be made available to thousands of children in the Mobile County Public School System, the Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center, and the Mobile Public Library.
The full announcement can be read on the University of Southern Mississippi’s site at Kellogg Foundation Grant to USM Will Help Mobile County Children Learn Math in New Ways.
